Attack of the Gallbladder

Hyperbole and a Half: Boyfriend Doesn't Have Ebola. Probably.

This has been one of the worst weeks in my life. My gallbladder has decided to break up with me. I'm totally cool with it except for the horrific pain I am in. The above blog post and pain chart above made me laugh until I cried.

  1. The pain is incredibly unforgiving. I was 30. Hope the surgeon puts you at the head of the line. Also hope they gave you some kind of pain meds. <3

  2. I agree. How is life after gallbladder surgery Mary Anne? No pain medication :(.

  3. I would request medication when you are in the throws of an attack.

Post-surgery is a high. No more pain. Recovery is quick. Best decision I ever made even though my youngest was only three months young. I even continued nursing her afterwards.

Don't let them tell you it's elective. When you're in that kind of pain it's necessary.

  4. Thank you for the advice! I don't think I can deal with the pain much longer. Happy to hear your success story :).

  5. The process of gallstone formation is referred to as cholelithiasis. It is generally a slow process, and usually causes no pain of gallstones or other symptoms.
