OAESA - Educational Leadership

I am going back to school for my administrative degree.

In my 25 years of teaching I have worked with many administrators. Some have been great, others horrible, and the most somewhere in between. I believe students, especially now, need leadership. Fair, unbiased, and compassionate principals.

I want to give this a try. I want to work in a district that wants and needs someone like me. I want to work with the staff who is passionate about the children and their content area. I want to be in a district that mirrors society. Diverse groups of people from all ethnic backgrounds, cultures, religion, and walks of life.

The first step was making the decision, now I must put in the work. I will be busy, you might not hear from me much in the fall, but know I am still here. I will stop by to share stories, updates on my social life (lol), and of course fabulous wedding inspiration posts under the #WeddingWednesday section.

Monica

15 - Quince

You would have 15 years old today. Probably waking up and getting ready for football practice at the high school. I imagine you being tough and playing dirty, but planning everything out like me.

I would insist on putting energy bars in your bag, plus two water bottles. You are a growing young man. You would be tall y muy guapo.

Your sister would text you Happy Birthday from Chicago. You would reply back with a funny picture. Both of you are funny.

I would be making a list of your favorite foods to buy at the grocery store. Today (and always) you would eat like a king. My baby boy.

I love you. I miss you. I know you are watching us from Heaven. One day I will hug you and tell you how much you mean to me in person.

Take care.

Forever Changed

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is an adventure. In my opinion it's not a place where you can just breeze through. Try to spend at least two or three days exploring the spectacular exhibits.

You will receive admission stickers that will allow entry for three days. This is great for budget friendly travelers. I am not a New York resident, so my entrance fee was $25.00.

I will never forget how I felt being in the presence of artifacts from my ancestors... If you have the time, go. Take your time. Absorb the beauty in this breathtaking museum.

My Gossip Girl fantasy came true.

Mercury in Retrograde

-Praying for New Zealand.

-I made a big decision last week. After doing so I have not experienced a day of greater peace.

-Jealousy drives people to do terrible things. I have seen it up close. I never want to be ruled by this type of sin.

-Amazon is both amazing and scary at the same time. This company has changed the shopping habits of part of the world. Mind blowing.

-My Pixel 3 is my favorite smartphone. As a member of #TeamBlackBerry I cannot believe I just typed that sentence. If you are looking for a new smartphone I highly recommend you give the Google Pixel a good look. If you are already using G Suite at school or work it will make your life much easier. This isn't an ad, honest opinion.

-Please pray for my friend Nanci. Silent request. Gracias mil.

Tengas un buen día,
Monica

Queen

Karma

I held you down for the longest
And I was with you through all of your darkest moments
Feels just like yesterday when we were homeless
Got you some bread, and started treating me bogus
Talking about you wanted something new (something new)
Like I wasn't good enough for you
Guess you done caught you a case of amnesia
Maybe you should take a look in your rear view
'Cause obviously you forgot all the times
That I held you when you cried
And don't you remember that
Even if you was in the wrong I stood by your side?
No, I guess not, I guess not
'Cause you let them thots take my spot
Congratulations to you
What you wanted is what you got now (you got now, baby)
So you don't got to worry about me
You made it clear that you're unhappy, yeah
Go ahead and have your fun now
Just remember what goes around comes around
You don't got to worry about me
You made it clear that you're unhappy, yeah
Go ahead and have your fun now
Just remember what goes around comes around
I remember when you said that you could have somebody better
And I can't even lie to you, it really messed my head up
Have me looking in the mirror disgusted with myself
Wishing that I look like someone else
Like the girls you liked on Instagram, damn
And you really had the nerve to call me insecure
Maybe it wasn't you
Maybe it's true I didn't know my worth
Maybe maybe I should have loved me first
Maybe maybe I should have loved me first
So you don't got to worry about me
You made it clear that you're unhappy, yeah
Go ahead and have your fun now
Just remember what goes around comes around
You don't got to worry about me (you don't gotta worry)
You made it clear that you're unhappy, yeah
Go ahead and have your fun now
Just remember what goes around comes around
What goes around, it comes around, yeah
What goes around, it comes around, yeah

#WeddingWednesday - Wedding Registry

One of the ways your soon to be spouse can be happily involved in the wedding planning process is the wedding registry. Many guys get that glazed over look when discussing linens, invitations, or seating arrangements at the reception. I have seen this in person with several clients.

The wedding registry is a fun way to prepare for your life together as a married couple. Encourage your spouse to go with you to the store (or cuddle up at home with your tablet) and choose gifts both of you will want in your new life together.

My wedding registry with my ex husband was hilarious. You could easily pick our who chose what item. We had fun registering for products. I think your spouse will too!

If you shop on online, it's simple to put together a wedding registry with almost any and everything you can dream of, the possibilities are endless.

Living the Dream

1. Ohio weather is terrible. My lungs can't handle the constant up and down temperatures.

2. Medical Marijuana is legal now. There are only a few dispenseries and the quality es no bueno, pero people have an option for pain that is not an opioid. Baby steps...

3. Canada is looking very good right now. I know there are issues everywhere. I am so sick and tired of the 45th President of the United States f*cking everything up and lying daily. Plus it's cold and snowy in Canada. We will see.

4. Don't marry an idiot. If you do, it will have lasting effects on your life  Even if you divorce them. I have a friend who married an idiot. He is having a rough time right now. I honestly worry about his mental health. If you are involved with someone, please don't ignore red flags. Go slowly. Think long and hard before you say "I do".

5. My AmStaff Coda is going to be 13 years old this year. I can't believe I have had a dog this long. She's having trouble getting in and out of my SUV and she can't jump up on mi hija's bed more than once or twice a day. I know she doesn't have much longer may a year or two. Coda is my heart. We'll be together until the end.
❤️

6. Currently job hunting. I have four years until I can retire with a pension. Four years is a long time when you are unhappy. This year I have no room or teaching responsibilities. This might sound like a dream. It's not. I went into teaching to TEACH. I am supposed to have an actual schedule next year. If it doesn't happen, it's time to move on.

7. Karma is a bitch. While briefly visiting FB I came across a former "friend". Her life is in shambles. She is an awful human being. I am not rejoicing in someone's pain. She hurt me and many other people for no reason and now she has lost everything. She is paying for her evil ways and all our mutual "friends" have shunned her. That group of people taught me a lot about relationships...

8. My house is full of flowers right now. I am learning a new skill called hand-knitting. Mi hija has a great job, my Coda is smiling at me on the couch and it has just started snowing. Right now all is well.

Monica

New Year Nuevas Experiencias

Happy New Year! Looking forward to an exciting year, a better situation at work, and actually having FUN (not 2011 fun, I barely survived that year 😉).

This year is going to be the end of the blog. I will stop by and post updates, but all good things must come to an end.

I will talk about some of my best and worst memories from the blog, what I have learned from blogging all of these years, and plans for the future.

My social media posts (Twitter, Pinterest, and Tumblr) are mainly #BlissbyMonica related, so my personal updates and any adventures will be posted here. Gracias mil por su apoyo y ayuda. Mi gente son mi vida... para siempre.

See you soon,
Monica
